My story

Hi, I'm Dannays Vallejo, APRN, founder of Evident Beauty. I was born in Cuba and came to the United States when I was nine years old. Since then, I've grown up in Miami and have always called it home.

Medicine has always been something I was drawn to. Right after high school, I went to school to become a surgical technologist because I knew I wanted to be involved in patient care and surgery. Life took me on a different path for a while, and I spent about 10 years working as a paralegal in a medical malpractice law firm. But even then, I knew medicine was where my heart really was.

During that time, I also experienced one of the hardest moments of my life when I lost my first child at 21 years old. That experience changed me and gave me an even deeper appreciation for medicine and caring for people during vulnerable moments in their lives.

As life continued, I became a mother, and today I have three beautiful daughters. After having children, I decided to return to school and pursue nursing while working full-time and balancing family life. I worked nights, weekends, and spent countless hours studying because I wanted to return to medicine and get back to something I always felt connected to.

During nursing school, I started experiencing hair loss myself, and it affected me much more than I ever thought it would. I remember looking in the mirror and feeling helpless, wondering what was happening and how I could stop it. It affected my self-esteem, but more than that, it started affecting my everyday life. I became depressed. I didn't feel like myself anymore. I know a lot of people see hair as just hair, but when you're the one going through it, you realize it's so much more than that. It affects how you feel when you wake up in the morning, how you see yourself, and even how you carry yourself throughout the day.

Going through that personally made me understand what so many women — and men — experience. That experience is what opened the door for me into aesthetics and regenerative medicine because I wanted to understand not only how to help myself, but how to help others going through the same thing.

Once I became a nurse, I started working in the operating room, and surgery has remained a passion of mine ever since.

Later on, I decided to continue my education and go for my master's degree. During that time, I was pregnant with my youngest daughter and still working full-time in the operating room, so life was definitely busy and there were a lot of long days, but I just kept pushing through.

For years, I always had Evident Beauty in the back of my mind. It was something I would think about and picture long before it became real. And I think a lot of that came from my own experiences because I know what it feels like to look in the mirror and not feel like yourself. I know what it feels like to feel frustrated and feel like you've lost a part of who you are. I wanted to create a place where people could come in and just feel better when they walk out than they did when they walked in.

Today, seeing Evident Beauty become real still feels a little surreal because I'm finally following something I've been passionate about for a long time. My goal is simple: I want to help both women and men feel good about themselves again. Sometimes people think aesthetics is only about changing how you look, but for me, it's deeper than that. Sometimes even small changes can help someone feel more like themselves again, and that's what this journey has always been about for me.
